A global leader in AI, digital business and technology services, has released its Sustainability Report 2025–2026. The report presents key environmental, social and governance indi-cators for the company’s operations in 17 countries across Europe and the Americas, covering the fiscal year from April 2025 to March 2026. It focuses on three pillars of impact: planet, including climate change and the circular economy; prosperity, encompassing risk management, corporate culture, ethical AI and sustainable value chains; and people, covering training, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), human rights and community impact.
Impact on the environment
The report highlights the company’s progress in managing its climate impact. During the reporting period, NTT DATA sourced 99.6% of its electricity from renewables as it worked toward its target of 100% by 2030. It also reduced its carbon footprint to 1.7 ktCO₂e by lowering Scope 1 and 2 emis-sions through initiatives involving fleet electrification, the purchase of energy attribute certificates, the optimization of energy consumption and the maintenance of cooling equipment.
These environmental efforts support a long-term commitment. Under its Net Zero 2040 vision, NTT DATA aims to achieve net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035 and net-zero Scope 3 emissions by 2040. These targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The company also applies circular economy principles to maximize the value of resources throughout their life cycles. This includes reusing, upgrading, recovering and recycling technology assets and digital infrastructure. The approach helps reduce waste, optimize material and energy use, and minimize the environmental impact of business activities.
Impact on prosperity
Prosperity, the second pillar of NTT DATA’s sustainability strategy, reflects the company’s com-mitment to conducting business with integrity, ethics and transparency while promoting responsible innovation.
The report describes NTT DATA’s continued commitment to a strong corporate culture built on its core values: “Respect every voice,” “Think big. Be bold,” “Deliver the outcome” and “Win together.” These values guide professional conduct and decision-making at every level of the organization and align with the principles of sustainability, good corporate governance, integrity, transparency, risk management and business ethics.
As a signatory to the European Commission’s AI Pact, NTT DATA has defined three key commit-ments to responsible AI use: adopting an AI governance strategy to work toward future compliance with the AI Act, identifying and mapping high-risk AI systems, and promoting AI awareness and literacy.
The aXet platform, the AI ecosystem developed by NTT DATA, received accredited certification to ISO/IEC 42001:2023. The standard establishes a management framework for responsible and transparent AI use, with requirements for controls and regulatory compliance.
Impact on people
People are the third pillar of NTT DATA’s sustainability strategy. During the reporting period, the company provided approximately 906,000 hours of training, with 88% of employees within the rele-vant reporting scope receiving AI training. In addition, 10,312 employees completed at least one sustainability course through the Sustainability Academy.
NTT DATA was also recognized as a Global Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute for the third consecutive year for its outstanding human resources policies and practices.
Social impact initiatives included volunteering, pro bono projects, donations and digital inclusion programs. During the reporting period, 3,161 volunteers participated in social, environmental and digital accessibility initiatives that reached more than 38,070 people.
“Our sustainability metrics are part of a company-wide approach to management that brings technolo-gy, people, operations and business together in a single strategy for creating sustainable value,” said Maria Jesus Villa Garcia, NTT DATA’s Head of ESG & Sustainability for Iberia, International Organi-sations, LATAM and Consulting in Benelux and France.
“This report allows us to be transparent about where we stand, measure our progress and, at the same time, identify the challenges ahead as we continue to make a positive, sustainable impact.”
The Sustainability Report 2025–2026 reinforces NTT DATA’s commitment to managing its busi-ness transparently, measuring progress and continually improving. It also shows how sustainability increasingly informs business decisions, from operations and technology to people and the compa-ny’s engagement with the world around it.
