The everis Brussels office awarded Shayp the title of the winner of the everis Awards Belgium 2020 for their project Leakfree. Leakfree has the potential of saving 100 litters of drinking water by 2023.
After realising that the plumbing of the historical monument of Brussels, the Manneken Pis, was broken, causing it to leak 2.5 tonnes of water per day, Shayp knew they needed to find a solution. Using the existing water meters, Shayp collects real-time water consumption data with a single non-invasive sensor and uses machine learning to instantly assess the costs and risks of leaks in buildings.
The award involves 10,000 euros, competing in the Global everis Awards against the finalists from 9 different countries and three months of mentoring from the everis Brussels team.
Among the novelties this year, the everis team organised a hybrid event where the three finalists came physically to the office, respecting all safety measures, and delivered their final pitches.
These are the other two finalists:
Mohammad Meraj Alam from FleXthor: An intelligent battery storage system with cutting-edge IoT platform and AI-based energy management for energy-conscious homeowners to earn incentives by trading surplus green energy with communities and grid operators by utilizing novel Blockchain technology to unlock new digital business models in the entire energy value chain.
Erich Reiter from Say it Labs: SAY IT Labs is a start-up developing serious video games using proprietary speech recognition technology designed for people with speech disabilities.
We would like to congratulate the three candidates for their innovative and disruptive projects which we are sure will succeed in the months to come.
