NTT DATA’s, commitment to the tech talent in Greece has been underlined during the official event hosted by the Japanese Embassy following the inauguration of the new office.
The office media tour was followed by an official event hosted by His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan in Greece, Mr Yasunori NAKAYAMA at the embassy residence with the attendance of Deputy Minister of Development, Mr Maximos Senetakis, Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Mr Konstantinos Kyranakis, Mrs Vicky Loizou, Secretary General for Private Investments, and Ambassador Nikos Piperigos, Diplomatic Advisor
During his welcome speech H.E. Mr. NAKAYAMA Yasunori, Ambassador of Japan to Greece, stated: “I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to NTT DATA for the achievements they have made in Greece and reiterate my sincere respect towards the Greek government’s efforts, under the leadership of Prime Minister Mitsotakis, in bringing its economy firmly back on the robust growth track. Let me wish NTT DATA many successes in Greece, which, I believe, would pave the way for a closer economic relation between our two countries”.
Following the Ambassador's welcome speech Deputy Minister of Development, Mr Maximos Senetakis said: The presence of the Japanese IT company NTT Data in Greece with its new branch is another vote of confidence for the Greek economy. NTT Data's investment in Greece is of symbolic importance, as it contributes to further strengthening the bilateral relations between Greece and Japan, setting an example for more Japanese companies to trust and invest in Greece. I was in Kyoto for the Science and Technology Forum last month, where I had the opportunity to express to the competent representative of the Japanese government my desire to explore the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between our countries in the fields of Science and Technology. Innovation is the key to development and cooperation with an innovation-oriented country like Japan will be mutually beneficial to both sides."
Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Mr Konstantinos Kyranakis stated: “The two countries, Greece, and Japan, have a lasting and excellent cooperation. Seizing the opportunity, I would like to make a proposal on today's NTT DATA event concerning the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Sector with the creation of a program that will involve the exchange of know-how and the training of students from Greece”.
In the context of highlighting the importance ΝΤΤ DATA gives to Greece as a growth hub in Europe, Mr Chieri Kimura, CEO of NTT DATA Europe and Latam attended the official event in the Ambassador’s residence repeating the bond between Greece and Japan: “The relations between the two countries are entering a new phase and our presence proves that Greece today is a country that deserves to be trusted as an investment partner and is also making excellent efforts to transition to the digital economy. This event is a big milestone for our company. NTT DATA continues with its goal in Greece to help society towards a more digital path, aligned with the current market needs and how the Greek Government is making a big effort to boost digitalization as one of the main ways to advance to a more solid future”.
